


Middlebank Wildlife Centre
Middlebank Wildlife Centre is the Scottish Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals very own Wildlife Centre and looks after all British wildlife except marine mammals. It operates with one main aim: to rehabilitate sick and injured wildlife and return them to their natural habitat as soon as possible. Treating over 2,000 wild animals every year, some of the wildlife successfully rehabilitated by the highly trained team include: injured birds of prey, oiled sea birds, injured swans, abandoned seal pups, and even underweight hedgehogs.

Working in close partnership with the public, the Sea Watch Foundation is a national marine conservation research charity dedicated to the protection of whales, dolphins and porpoises around the UK. Each year, these animals face depletion in their numbers and even possible local extinction due to continuing threats such as capture and drowning in fishing gear, sound disturbance, pollution, over-fishing, and climate change. Sea Watch scientists help combat this by regularly monitoring and studying whale and dolphin populations, gaining knowledge and understanding of their status, numbers and distribution as well as the condition of their marine habitats.
